The Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MACPR), was founded in 1984 by artists and benefactors of the civil society, to support art at its highest expression. Its presence in San Juan has been instrumental in the preservation, documentation and promotion of art produced from 1940 in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Latin America. The Museum organizes, throughout the year, thematic exhibitions of its collection, and at the same time presents temporary exhibitions of local and foreign artists.
