The City of Caguas invites you to come with your family and live the charm of Christmas season. Hundreds of thousands of lights will illuminate the gardens and historic structures at the William Miranda Marín Botanical and Cultural Garden.
The Botanical and Cultural Garden honors the three “ethnic roots” from which grew the Puerto Rican family tree: Taíno, Spanish and African … which fused to create the “Criollo” national identity. The Garden depicts Puerto Rico’s “criollo” history and culture. Converging in the grounds of the Garden important archaeological sites of the Taíno indians that inhabited Borikén (aboriginal name of Puerto Rico), centenary ruins of the old Sugar Mill San José, as well as the centennial barracks with traces of slave labor whose invaluable sacrifice represented an important element in the development of the “criollo” personality.
