Dulce Nombre de Jesús Cathedral

This majestic structure was built in the same place as the first chapel devoted to Saint Sebastian. Also, in this structure the dead of the emerging Caguas village were buried. In 1830 it became the Dulce Nombre de Jesús Church whose façade exhibited a single tower. In the 1930s it was remodeled to include a second tower, preserved to this day.

In 1965, upon the designation of the City as Episcopal Seat, the church became the Cathedral of the new Diocese of Caguas. Inside repose the remains of the first blessed Puerto Rican Carlos Manuel Rodriguez, place visited by pilgrims from all over the Island.

Now only opened during holy mass daily hours
