This archaeological Site in Jayuya is home of some of the island’s best-preserved native petroglyphs carved on a large rock in the middle of the “Río Saliente”, east of Jayuya. The stone forms a natural bathing pool, and it has become a popular stop-off for curious and travelers. It is a great place for an adventure!
The municipality created a recreation area called Area Recreativa La Piedra Escrita with a beautiful wooden walkway down to the river so that everyone can appreciate this artifact. There is a small car park and restaurant.
